Lola Depret, SEO apprentice Editorial

Lola joined the ASSONANCE.Agency team in September 2022.

To kick off her second year with us, we'd like to introduce her a little more formally! In this interview, Lola talks about her career, her studies and learning a new trade.

Who are you and what was your background before joining Assonance?

My name is Lola Depret, I'm 21 and I've been in Reims since 2019. Currently at assonance as a web copywriter & junior content manager, I've been on a 2-year work-study program since September 2022. A graduate of a BTS Commerce International and a Bachelor Responsable Marketing et Communication, I'm now studying for a master's degree in communication and marketing strategy management at ECS - Mediaschool, Reims. Before joining the team, I worked at J'aime Thé Café, in downtown Reims, where I was mainly a community manager and barista (which is also where I met Syphaï). At the time, it was my first long-term experience, following internships lasting a few months and odd seasonal assignments.

When I joined Assonance.Agency, I took on a real challenge in a field of activity I'd never tackled before: SEO.

The customer's point of view differs from what we would have advised. What advice would you give someone in this situation?

Sometimes you don't agree with your sister, your mother or your best friend... And yet, this doesn't break the bond. It's important to remember that everyone has their own opinion and that not everyone can agree (wouldn't the world be a bland place if everyone thought alike?). The main thing is to respect other people's opinions.

It's the same with a customer: you can give him advice and he'll either follow it or not. It's his choice and you can't change it. The aim is not to take the piss. Give your advice, make your case and let the customer make his own decision - it's his responsibility.

In which industry would you like to work after graduation?

I'm approaching the end of my school career, and in 1 year's time I'll be working. I've already given a lot of thought to the question "What would you like to do when you grow up?

My answer: I want to do what I want to do! I don't have a preferred sector of activity, my only wish is to continue in communications. The only way for me to be fulfilled in my work is to be able to express my creativity and learn on a daily basis. And I have to say, as a web copywriter, I couldn't have done it better myself. So why not continue in this vein?

Which of the skills you learned at Assonance do you think will be most useful to you?

All skills learned are useful one day. It was thanks to Assonance that I learned the basics, practices, tools and fundamentals of SEO and optimization. I think that's an asset. It's a fairly complex field, often not mastered, but nonetheless indispensable for a company today.
